American-Nigerian actress and comedian Ayo Edebiri received the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards for her performance as Sydney Adamu in the critically acclaimed comedy-drama series “The Bear.”
The actress is known for her phenomenal performance in the two-season television series The Bear. The show has a five-star rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is known for its fast-paced and exciting intensities throughout the dramedy.
In her acceptance speech at the award event, Ayo credited her on-screen family, her real family, and everyone she has worked with for her success and the show’s success.
“All of my agents and manager’s assistants, the people who answer my emails, y’all are real ones. Thank you for answering my crazy emails. If I forgot to thank you, I’m sorry. Unless you are mean or something.”
Ayo Edebiri is also known for her performances in various films, including “Bottoms,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse,” “Big Mouth,” “Black Mirror,” and many more.
The actress is also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for “The Bear.”
