From Oppenheimer to the Barbie movie and a wholesome Ayo Edebiri moment, the 2024 Golden Globes gave us moments to remember for a long time. The 81st annual award show took place on Sunday, the 7th of January, and recognised talented actors for outstanding performances in the past year. Some of the first-time winners are women we were all rooting for.
Winners
Lily Gladstone won her first Golden Globe with her performance on “Killers of the Flower Moon” and Ayo Edebiri for her fan-favourite role on The Bear. Oppenheimer went home with five awards, with Cillian Murphy snagging one for Best Actor, and Barbie’s Margot Robbie lost out to Emma Stone for Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture. The Barbie movie got two Golden Globes for Outstanding Cinematic, Box Office Achievement, and Best Song. With so many other deserving winners, the Oscar race is sure to be intense.
