Zenith Bank is set to announce Dame Adaora Umeoji as its new GMD/CEO

Zenith Bank Nigeria is set to announce Dame (Dr) Adaora Umeoji as its new Group Managing Director (GMD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), replacing Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu. 

As reported by Naira Metrics, Zenith Bank continues the legacy of appointing insiders as its GMD and CEO. Therefore, it is no surprise that Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji is next in line to take up Zenith Bank’s leadership mantle. Dame (Dr.) Adaora has over 20 years of banking and executive management experience. Most recently, Dame Adaora was reappointed as the bank’s Deputy Managing Director, which amplified her as an asset to the bank and a testament to her management expertise.

While an official announcement is yet to be made, a press release from Zenith Bank is expected to be released soon.

Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji OON is the Deputy Managing Director at Zenith Bank Plc. She has a career spanning over two decades in banking and executive management.

Umeoji holds numerous academic qualifications, including a doctorate in business administration. She has completed prestigious programs at renowned institutions such as Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and MIT Management Sloan School.

Recognised as a fellow of various professional bodies, Dr. Adaora Umeoji is acclaimed for her significant contributions to leadership and people management. She is a highly regarded speaker at academic conferences, delivering insightful lectures on financing growth drivers within Nigeria’s economy.

She established the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria (CBAN) to champion ethical banking practices and service to humanity. This further demonstrates her commitment to professionalism and philanthropy. Umeoji also holds esteemed titles as a Peace Advocate of the United Nations and a Lady of the Order of Knights of St. John International.

Her outstanding contributions to nation-building were recently acknowledged when she received the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) from President Muhammadu Buhari.
