Neutrality in the face of injustice is complicity; here’s why choosing a side matters

We have seen this play out way too often, in Nigeria and virtually everywhere else we look. A woman speaks up, and instead of getting solid support, they leave her hanging, or worse, victimised. Here’s the thing: complacency and victim-blaming are deeply connected. They both feed injustice and fat and strengthen the audacity of the parties or systems causing harm.

Why calling yourself a feminist still matters in today’s social and political reality

Many women do not want to be portrayed as man-hating or seen as trying to alienate men. During conversations with friends, bringing up feminism feels off-limits, as if discussions around women’s rights are too heavy or unnecessary. In today’s environment, women often shy away from feminism because they are worried about the connotations and stigma of being associated with feminist politics.
