With at least 12,000 women diagnosed with cervical cancer yearly in Nigeria, BellaNaija is using #StopHPVForHer campaign to raise awareness and save lives.

Leading African digital media platform, BellaNaija, has launched #StopHPVForHer, a health-focused campaign aimed at raising awareness about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and its link to cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women globally, with about 95% of cases linked to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). It is estimated that, in Nigeria, at least 12,000 women get diagnosed with cervical cancer annually, placing the country 7th globally in cervical cancer cases.

For years, BellaNaija has championed and supported impactful health initiatives spanning mental health, breast cancer, PCOS and more. With the #StopHPVForHER campaign, BellaNaija aims to strengthen its commitment to health and wellness.

Leveraging the power of the media, the campaign will emphasise the importance of early education, regular screenings and vaccination in preventing HPV and cervical cancer. It will also bridge the information gap through expert insights, practical resources on HPV, its prevention, and treatment options, medically reviewed explainers, personal stories, and interactive digital content. BellaNaija is not just creating awareness on HPV and cervical cancer; they’re also championing meaningful conversations around them and providing people with the tools they need to make informed health decisions.

Be a part of the #StopHPVForHer movement

If you’re passionate about raising awareness and championing cervical cancer prevention, this is for you. The #StopHPVForHer campaign will run across BellaNaija’s website and social media platforms Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook — throughout October. Join the conversation and show your support by using the hashtag #StopHPVForHer.
