The 2025 VMAs was all about women making history and stealing the spotlight. See the full list of winners!
The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) wasn’t just another night of sparkly outfits and awards. History was made live on stage. South African star Tyla made her way into the record books, becoming the most-decorated African artist in VMAs history with her second win. It’s simultaneously inspiring and sobering that Tyla now holds the title of most-decorated African artist in VMAs history with only two wins. Her milestone is powerful, but it also highlights how overdue the recognition of African talent at the VMAs truly is. However, Tyla wasn’t alone in shaking things up.
Lady Gaga ended the night with the most wins, winning four awards. Likewise, Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter won three awards each. Doechii also took home two awards, and Rosé of Blackpink became one of the few K-pop idols to snag a major award outside her group.
It was a night where women took home trophies, made headlines, and reminded everyone why the VMAs are still music’s wildest playground.
