I was behind the scenes as the iconic mother-daughter duo prepared for a cover shoot that celebrates their shared legacy, creative brilliance, and unshakable bond.
The day kicked off at the Deola Lagos headquarters, an architectural reflection of the family’s impeccable taste. The energy was infectious as the team assembled to bring the vision to life.
For Deola, a pioneer of Nigerian couture, every detail was executed to perfection. Renowned makeup artist Bimpe Onakoya crafted a look that honoured Deola’s timeless elegance. Using Lancôme products provided by Essenza, Bimpe opted for a look featuring a soft, dewy complexion, subtle contouring, and nude lips to enhance her regal features. Hairstylist Zubbydefinition elevated the look further with a sleek, sculpted updo – an ode to Deola’s sophistication and poise.
Teni Sagoe, the vibrant creative director of CLAN, brought a modern, youthful contrast. Bimpe Onakoya kept Teni’s makeup fresh and radiant, highlighting her natural glow with soft touches of shimmer. Sari signature completed the transformation, styling Teni’s hair into soft waves that exuded effortless contemporary charm.
