Emmy Awards: Keke Palmer becomes first woman to win Best Game Show Host in 15 years

Keke Palmer

Actress, singer, and host Keke Palmer has become the first woman to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Game Show Host in 15 years. Before Palmer, the last female win was in 2009 with Meredith Vieira. This was for the syndicated run of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’.

In 2022, Keke Palmer emerged as the host for the NBC reboot of the game show Password, with Jimmy Fallon as the executive producer. Password is an American game show that first aired on October 2, 1961. The show consists of one regular contestant and a celebrity teaming together to win prize money. The game was alternated between two teams; one team member would have the password, and the other would have to guess the word in five seconds.

In a celebratory post on Instagram, Keke Palmer thanked Jimmy Fallon for the opportunity and the academy for the award.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of a classic game show such as Password. It’s a true honour, I won! I’m excited, BOOTS!”
