“Bridgerton” Season 4 is on the way — and I’m absolutely losing it!

Characters from Bridgerton

My tea is brewed, corset cinched, and I’m ready for the drama to unfold!

The Ton is calling, and I’m answering with bated breath and a strong cup of tea. For those who, like me, have been enthralled by the witty banter, swoon-worthy romance, and lavish ballgowns of “Bridgerton”, the wait for Season 4 is almost too much to bear.

As a self-proclaimed “Bridgerton” superfan, I’ve been hooked since the very first season, and with each passing instalment, my love for the show has only grown stronger. From Daphne’s fiery spirit to Anthony’s brooding charm, and Colin’s shocking charisma, each Bridgerton sibling has captivated me in their own unique way. And now, with Season 4 in production, I’m practically vibrating with anticipation.

So, what’s got me so excited?

For starters, the lead characters. Benedict —known to be the most committed bachelor — is finally taking centre stage in his search for love. I’m thrilled to see Luke Thompson bring this charming character to life, as it goes against everything we know Benedict to be.

When “Bridgerton” introduces an entirely new cast as a female lead, as with Kate in season 2, you can trust them to do it right. The new season sees Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek, Benedict’s love interest, whom Thompson describes as a “resourceful maid” who captures Benedict’s attention at a masquerade ball and is referred to as the mysterious “Lady in Silver.”

I am most excited about the Cinderella-inspired plot and have no doubt that their romance will be a highlight of the season.

A change of scenery

Personally, another exciting thing about the show is their decision to switch things up by introducing a new season — literally. Instead of the perpetual spring we’re used to, Season 4 will set the scene in the fall, surrounding us with cosy autumnal colours and, hopefully, treating us to plenty of romantic hayrides. I’m curious to see how this change of scenery will influence the tone and aesthetic of the show.

Returning favourites

Of course, no “Bridgerton” season would be complete without the return of some of our favourite characters. Jonathan Bailey has confirmed that he’ll be back as Anthony Bridgerton. I’m looking forward to seeing how his character continues to evolve, especially since tying the knot with the love of his life, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). With Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton also set to return as Penelope and Colin, we can expect to see the domestic married life of Colin and Penelope with their newborn child.

“Bridgerton” has cemented its place as one of my all-time favourite series – and I have no doubt the upcoming season will be its most unforgettable yet. Although production is still ongoing and the release date has not been announced, it is predicted to be released sometime in 2026. Until then, I will anticipate the Ton’s scandals, romantic entanglements, and high-society mayhem.
