Ashley Okoli, Korty, Eloghosa Osunde join the #VS20 World Tour

For years, Victoria’s Secret has leveraged their brand to showcase women in a way that highlights their beauty, sexiness and self worth. But the brand restructured following criticisms about the brand’s ethics and politics, shuttering their iconic Victoria Secret Fashion show. Three years after their last show, the beloved brand is returning with a new mandate and a new outlook on women’s fashion.

“We are excited to introduce a completely reimagined version of the fashion show, while bringing back the very best of entertainment and fashion our customers have been asking for. We’re celebrating the iconic heritage of the brand through a new generation of artists, and we can’t wait to amplify their vision through our worldwide platform,” said Chris Rupp, Chief Customer Officer at Victoria’s Secret & Co.

This year, the clothing and beauty retailer is back with yet another show stopping presentation: Victoria’s Secret World Tour. Tagged VS20, the show will be proving the brand’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through their collaboration with women across the globe who are creating and breaking barriers in their specific fields.

From four cities across the globe: Bogota, London, Tokyo and Lagos, the show will be reimagining what was once known as the annual VS fashion show.

Dubbed the House of Lagos, it features Nigeria’s very own fashion designer Bubu Ogisi, filmmaker Korty, artist Eloghosa Osunde, artist Ashley Okoli and multifaceted creative Wavy the creator. These vibrant talents from Lagos across fashion, film, design and visual arts will unite to present their creations together with legendary bespoke designs from Victoria’s Secret, given the artistic liberty to conceive, produce, and present their exclusive collection.

Presented by Victoria’s Secret, executive produced by Sunshine, produced by Pulse Films, the feature will be creative directed by PARTEL OLIVA, with film direction by Lola Raban-Oliva, Cristina Sanchez, Korty, Margot Bowman and Umi Ishihara.

Taking to Instagram to announce this feat, Korty posted a photo alongside the caption, “the Victoria Secret team said to me, ‘we love your YouTube videos, you have a peculiar style and we want you to be a filmmaker on our world tour.’ It felt too big to handle, but nothing is too big for Korty to handle. I feel so blessed, I’m learning so much and can’t wait till it all comes together ❤️” Bubu, Ashley and Eloghosa also took to social media to celebrate this announcement.

This up and coming reimagined show is set to be infused with fashion, glamour, and entertainment, paying tribute to cherished past symbols while daringly redefining them through the artistic involvement and flair of the 20 women involved. It will be streamed internationally and culminate in a live fashion event this fall. It will follow the behind-the-scenes process of these women as they create fashion collections to be staged on the runway.

#VS20 is a powerful comeback for Victoria’s Secret since their last show in December 2018 following a series of calls for diversity and scandals. We can’t wait to see what our women create!
