Paris Fashion Week FW25 opens with promises of quality and quantity, big designer debuts and a launchpad for young talents.
Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2025 has begun, ushering in a season of unparalleled craftsmanship, audacious debuts, and a masterful interplay of heritage and innovation. Setting the tone for the week, Weinsanto’s opening act was nothing short of a spectacle — bold, provocative, and imbued with theatricality.
A grand opening with Weinsanto
Victor Weinsanto, Paris’ enfant terrible, inaugurated the season with a collection that seamlessly blended Parisian sensuality with winter-ready pragmatism. Playing with structure and fluidity, his designs featured corseted silhouettes, ultra-short hemlines, slashed gowns, and sculptural bustiers. Statement jewellery and sharply tailored, low-slung trousers added an air of irreverence.
Closing the show, voluminous corseted gowns billowed down the runway. A dramatic punctuation mark on an already commanding presentation. With this, Weinsanto set an exacting standard for what is poised to be a season defined by audacity and artistic prowess.

A Season of substance and spectacle
From 3 – 11 March, Paris Fashion Week will host 109 events, including 72 runway shows and 37 presentations. The opening day belonged to avant-garde visionaries — Weinsanto, CFCL, and Vaquera — who delivered an intoxicating blend of innovation and raw creative energy. As the week unfolds, we anticipate a compelling juxtaposition of radical reinvention and storied maisons reaffirming their sartorial codes.
With an illustrious roster featuring Saint Laurent, Chanel, Miu Miu, Valentino, Balenciaga, Schiaparelli, and Kenzo, this season promises both spectacle and substance. Expect a dynamic interplay of modernity, romanticism, and subversive tailoring.

Anticipated designer debuts

This season also heralds the arrival of key creative forces making their mark on Parisian runways. Sarah Burton is set to unveil her inaugural collection for Givenchy on 7 March, following the brand’s tantalising Oscars teaser — Timothée Chalamet’s striking yellow suit, a prelude to what is expected to be a masterclass in contemporary sophistication.
Equally anticipated is Haider Ackermann’s Tom Ford’s first collection, debuting on 5 March. A designer revered for his meticulous tailoring and poetic draping. Ackermann’s vision for the house is expected to be nothing short of transformative. Meanwhile, Pieter Mulier will introduce House of Alaïa’s first official collection under the Fédération schedule. This marks a significant moment for the storied atelier.

The vanguard of emerging talents

Paris Fashion Week has long served as a launchpad for the industry’s next luminaries, and this season is no exception. Christopher Esber, recipient of the 2024 Andam Prize, will present his highly anticipated collection, while Hodakova, the 2024 LVMH Prize winner, is set to make waves. Additionally, the spotlight will shine on the likes of Yasmin Mansour, Alain Paul, and Burc Akyol, designers whose names are fast becoming synonymous with innovation.

Paris reigns supreme
With Weinsanto’s emphatic opening, the tone is set for a season of unrelenting sartorial excellence. From audacious debuts to heritage houses reaffirming their dominance, Paris Fashion Week FW25 is poised to be a grand display of vision and virtuosity, cementing the city’s status as the epicentre of fashion.
