Ready-to-wear label Zephans & Co. sponsors Nollywood movie “Gingerrr” in an exciting move.

Zephans & Co., the Lagos-born ready-to-wear label, proudly announces its co-sponsorship of “Gingerrr”, the high-energy heist now showing in Nigerian cinemas. Directed by  Yemi “Filmboy” Morafa, the movie features a powerhouse ensemble: Bisola Aiyeola, Wunmi Toriola, Bolaji Ogunmola, Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (Kiekie), Odunlade Adekola, Lateef Adedimeji, and Shaffy Bello. Favourites Timini Egbuson and Blossom Chukwujekwu also make additional appearances.

“Gingerrr” is a daring, female-led heist story that unites four actresses at the top of their game. The movie was released on 26 September 2025, with early teasers highlighting its glossy visual language and celebration of Nigerian style and humour.

Fashion x Nollywood: A timeless partnership

Founded in Lagos, Zephans & Co. creates ready-to-wear pieces for women drawn to expressive, playful style. The label blends contemporary silhouettes with Lagos energy, earning a devoted following across Nigeria and the diaspora.

Nigeria’s film and fashion industries have long fuelled each other’s creativity — onscreen styling sets trends while designers gain visibility through iconic characters and storytelling. This synergy has deepened considerably in recent years, with product placements and brand collaborations emerging as powerful tools for both creative financing and marketing.

Zephans & Co.’s partnership with “Gingerrr” exemplifies this evolution. It formalises what has traditionally been an informal relationship into a formal, strategic collaboration. “This moment is special, not just for our brand but for the creative economy we love,” says founder Nkiru Achukwu. “‘Gingerrr’ celebrates bold Nigerian women; dressing that story feels like a full circle Lagos love letter. We’re excited to help bring the film to life, to debut an exclusive Zephans & Co. collection inspired by the movie’s release. Also, excited to show what happens when fashion and Nollywood build together.”

Amplified cultural storytelling: “Gingerrr” celebrates contemporary Nigerian womanhood with wit, grit, and glamour. Pairing that narrative with Zephans & Co’s Lagos crafted designs reinforces a distinctly Nigerian aesthetic on the big screen, owned, made, and told at home.

Smart reach and measurable impact: Nollywood releases deliver nationwide, multi-demographic reach in a matter of weeks. For a homegrown fashion brand, that’s a uniquely efficient platform for both brand equity and commercial conversion, from onscreen inspiration to real-world wardrobes.

Ecosystem value: Sponsorship dollars help finance ambitious productions; in return, brands gain storytelling depth that standard ads can’t replicate. It’s a win-win that strengthens Nigeria’s creative economy end-to-end.

Zephans & Co.’s partnership with “Gingerrr” marks a milestone for both Nigerian fashion and film. As the first homegrown label to publicly co-sponsor a Nollywood movie, the brand reinforces the power of creative collaboration in telling authentic, stylish Nigerian stories.
