Yutee Rone debuts Textures of the Ocean, a new collection inspired by the Aegean Sea, in Lagos

Luxury meets nature in Yutee Rone’s latest collection, where the sea inspires not just silhouettes, but emotion, strength, and serenity.

Celebrated Nigerian luxury designer Yutee Rone will present her latest collection, Textures of the Ocean, at an exclusive fashion show on 30 November 2025. Known for her refined aesthetic and commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, Rone introduces a collection shaped by personal reflection, nature, and the evolving language of contemporary luxury.

How the Aegean Sea inspired Textures of the Ocean

Yutee Rone is a Lagos-based womenswear designer distinguished by her meticulous construction, sculptural silhouettes, and contemporary sensibility. Drawing from global culture and natural form, she continues to shape a resonant and thoughtful contribution to African and international fashion. The genesis of Textures of the Ocean can be traced to Rone’s recent visit to Mykonos. The encounter with the Aegean Sea served as both a creative spark and an emotional anchor. “My travels and love for nature have always influenced my work,” she shares. “In Mykonos, I discovered a deeper connection to the ocean, its depth, elegance, and quiet power. That experience shaped everything about this collection.”

Flow, form, and femininity

The collection interprets the ocean’s shifting mood through fluid silhouettes, sculptural forms, and movement-driven draping. It balances softness and structure, mirroring the sea’s tranquillity as well as its underlying strength. Rone’s signature precision is evident in every detail. The palette ranges from pale aquatic hues to dramatic deep-blue tones, complemented by sandy neutrals and pearlescent accents. Luxurious fabrics, including silk, organza, and satin, allow the garments to flow with ease, while textured materials evoke natural elements found along the shoreline. Subtle embellishment acts as a glimmering highlight without overwhelming the pieces.

At its core, “Textures of the Ocean” is an exploration of emotional depth and femininity. “The ocean reflects the qualities of the women I design for,” Rone explains. “Serenity, resilience, quiet strength.”
