Vlisco proudly announced the launch of its new campaign, “Icons Last Forever,” on 2 July 2025. This campaign honours the timeless power of Vlisco’s most iconic designs, exploring what it means to be iconic across generations.

Inspired by the legendary portraits of Malian photographer Seydou Keïta, “Icons Last Forever” celebrates the beauty and soul of an era, where Vlisco prints have become part of the continent’s visual history. The campaign features three distinct collections, each playing a crucial role in Vlisco’s narrative of legacy and cultural continuity.

The journey begins with the Icons collection, showcasing Vlisco’s original, era-defining designs that were worn in the portraits of Keïta. These iconic prints have shaped identities, inspired generations, and become cultural treasures. They are a testament to the brand’s rich history and its ability to capture the essence of an era.

The story continues with the Revival designs, which are past reinterpretations of Vlisco’s iconic prints. These designs built a bridge from legacy to the present moment, reimagining classic patterns and colours for a new generation. The Revival collection is a celebration of Vlisco’s ability to evolve while staying true to its heritage, ensuring that its designs remain relevant and coveted.

Finally, the campaign arrives at the Hommage designs, new creations from Vlisco’s Design Studio that honour what came before while looking ahead. These designs pay tribute to the brand’s legacy while infusing it with modernity and creativity. The Hommage collection is a testament to Vlisco’s commitment to innovation. It’s also dedication to pushing the boundaries of African fashion and design.

At the heart of the campaign is Cameroonian actress, entrepreneur, and cultural icon, Muriel Blanche. As a symbol of cultural continuity, Muriel embodies the spirit of “Icons Last Forever,” bringing authenticity and boldness to the campaign. Her personal connection to Vlisco, worn by her mother and the women who raised her, is a testament to the brand’s legacy and cultural significance.

“Vlisco is not just about prints, it’s about this real legacy that we all see and feel,” reflects Muriel. “It’s a way to honour where I come from, and to carry that forward.” As part of the campaign, Muriel becomes part of Vlisco’s living archive, a reflection of the past, a voice of the present, and an impression for the future.
