Livespot360 unveils Entertainment Week Africa (EWA): A bold new era for the continent’s creative economy

Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) launches a program to amplify African voices in the entertainment industry.

Livespot360 is proud to announce the next chapter in its flagship cultural platform with the official launch of Entertainment Week Africa (EWA). Set to take place from Nov 18–23, 2025, in the heart of Lagos. Formerly known as Entertainment Week Lagos (EWL), this reimagined and expanded edition marks a powerful evolution. It reflects the pan-African ambition, global reach, and unstoppable momentum of Africa’s booming creative economy, valued at $58.4 billion.

EWA is not just a name change; it’s a statement. A celebration of Africa’s boundless creativity, innovation, and influence across music, film, fashion, art, tech, content, and culture. This event promises a dynamic convergence of industry leaders, artists, creators, investors, and visionaries from across the continent. To explore and shape the future of the African entertainment industry.

With a fresh identity and a renewed mission, Entertainment Week Africa aims to be the premier destination for cultural exchange, networking, and collaborations.

A defining milestone in Livespot360’s creative legacy

The rebrand to Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) marks a milestone in Livespot360’s decade of designing systems, storytelling ecosystems, and access pipelines that empower creators across music, film, fashion, technology, and youth culture.

What began as Entertainment Week Lagos has already made a remarkable impact. In just three years, the platform has trained over 2,000 young creatives. They have screened 153 short films and hosted over 58 pop-ups. They have also welcomed 53,000+ attendees, cementing their role as a catalyst for Africa’s cultural evolution.

Furthermore, the EWA summit will host a dynamic 6-day program of panels, performances, film showcases, tech exhibitions, masterclasses, business accelerators, and pop-up experiences. These events will take place at the Livespot Entertarium, a vibrant hub for creativity, innovation, youth culture, global cuisine, and nightlife, amongst other key locations.

The 2025 program, themed “Close the Gap,” focuses on tackling issues of access, investment, infrastructure, and opportunity across Africa’s creative economy.

“Entertainment Week Africa is where the brilliance, originality, and global influence of Africa’s creative industry come together,” said Deola Art Alade. She is the founder of Livespot360 and Convener of Entertainment Week Africa. “It’s a strategic expansion designed to serve Africa’s growing influence in music, film, tech, fashion, live production, and entrepreneurship. With one of the world’s youngest populations and a rising class of creators and cultural entrepreneurs, Africa’s creative economy is entering a new era of ownership, innovation, and lasting value. That’s the promise of EWA: not just to spotlight what already exists, but to build what comes next.”

In line with this bold vision, EWA 2025 also debuts an expanded program across film, fashion, and technology, introducing several new initiatives designed to deepen industry impact and accelerate creative entrepreneurship.

In fact, one of the standout features of this year’s edition is the reimagined Deal Room. Previously focused solely on entertainment tech ventures. Now, it has evolved into a multi-track investment hub for music, film, and tech founders. Offering access to a ₦25 million seed fund and a curated network of Africa-focused investors and accelerators.

Also launching for the first time is the Music and Film Content Market. A curated space that brings together buyers, sellers, and funders under one roof. Daily screenings of creator-led films and animations will be paired with expert sessions to help participants refine their projects for investor pitches. From funding to visibility, EWA 2025 is creating tangible pathways for Africa’s creators to scale globally.

Entertainment Week Africa builds on the incredible legacy of Entertainment Week Lagos. It’s a platform that has long celebrated the convergence of creativity and technology in Africa. Today, EWA is becoming the go-to destination for professionals and creatives seeking meaningful connections, experiences, and world-shaping ideas. It will also support the next generation of African creative talent, with learning, employment, and community uplift at its core.
