Prepare for another literary masterpiece as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie prepares to release her first feature-length book since “Americanah”. After a ten-year creative process, the celebrated author of “Purple Hibiscus” and “We Should All Be Feminists” returns with a new novel, “Dream Count.” According to the publisher, Penguin Random House, the book will be released on March 4, 2025.
The “Dream Count” storyline
“Dream Count” tells a sweeping story about four women whose lives are shaped by love, longing, and pain. Chiamaka is a Nigerian travel writer living in the US who is unlucky in love. Alone in the midst of the pandemic, she recalls her past lovers and grapples with her choices and regrets.
Another character, Zikora, her best friend, is a lawyer who has been successful at everything until she’s betrayed and unexpectedly becomes a heartbroken single mother. She must turn to the person she thought she needed least.
Omelogor, Chiamaka’s bold, outspoken cousin, is a financial powerhouse in Nigeria who begins to question how well she knows herself.
And Kadiatou, Chiamaka’s housekeeper, is trying to reclaim her dignity after a terrible sexual assault. Raising her daughter in America, she faces an unthinkable hardship that threatens all she has worked to achieve.
