Celebrities are serving looks for Halloween 2024 and we love it!

The Halloween celebrations in Hollywood are off to a fiery start as celebrities share their costumes for the holiday. Halloween, which is celebrated annually on October 31st, originates from ancient Celtic festivals and marks the evening when the veil between the living and the dead is said to be its thinnest. Today, Halloween is marked across countries with costume parties, trick-or-treating and eerie decorations.

For celebrity costumes this year, the range from sexy costumes to spooky and outright creative has set the stage for a night full of thrills, and we are glued to our screen in appreciation of this beautiful western culture.

Here are my favourite celebrity costumes for Halloween 2024

Saweetie as “The Joker”

The rapper went full Joker for Halloween, sharing photos dressed as “The Dark Knight” character. Her makeup, mannerisms, and hunched posture were spot-on, and the addition of acrylic nails made  her costume one of my favourites for the year.

Ciara nailed the GloRilla look

When Ciara commits to a look, there’s no holding back. In a post she shared on X (formerly Twitter), the singer, actress and dancer dressed as GoRilla for Halloween, and took it a step further to reenact an interview the singer had earlier this month. From the outfit to the fake tattoos and GloRilla’s Memphis accent, Ciara nailed it!

Kylie goes sci-fi

Channelling Jane Fonda’s iconic 1960s role Barbarella, Kylie bore an unmistakable resemblance to Jane, from the mountainous blonde hairdo to the metal bra-lette with the attached cape. Bold choice, Kylie!

Janelle Monae as…E.T?

For Halloween, Janelle Monáe paid tribute to the classic film E.T., and I have just one question: How did she pull this off? The creativity behind the look and attention to detail makes a perfect spooky look for Halloween.

The Halle Berry tributes

Every year, we see celebrities dress as Halle Berry for Halloween and there’s always a question of who’s going to dress up like her. This year, three celebrities have paid tribute to the Oscar winner icon and it’s hard choosing a favourite as they all nailed the looks.

Halle Bailey shared sizzling snaps of herself channelling Berry’s character, Jinx, from the 2002 James Bond film “Die Another Day.” Tyla also put together a sexy Halle Berry look from the 1994 movie “The Flintstones.” Lastly, Coi Leray dressed as Halle Berry from the popular superhero franchise, “Catwoman.”

Lizzo is damning the rumours

For her costume, the singer dressed as a giant Ozempic box which was cinched at the waist with a measuring tape, and decorated with her name along with some small print including “FDA approved,” “diet suppressor,” and “for single patient use only,” inspired by rumours surrounding her weight loss. Rumours she had consistently denied sharing  her healthy journey across social media.

James Charles ‘Avatar’ couldn’t have been more perfect!

Charles’ costume, inspired by the Na’vi from the “Avatar” franchise, features the distinctive blue skin and intricate details characteristic of the Na’vi, including the braid-like appendages on the head and a tail, and the unique attire that blends with the alien environment depicted in the background captures the essence of the Na’vi’s connection to nature and their mythical appearance.

Honorary mention- “ The Mombies”

The Mombies, a Group of Moms created the “dance to donate” initiative in 2016  to raise funds for metastatic breast cancer research. Every year, the moms shed their everyday persona and transform into ghastly zombies for dance performances across cities to raise funds for women battling cancer.
