Ayo Edebiri, recognised for her on-screen performances, is now taking on a new role in fashion.
Ayo Edebiri, the Emmy-award-winning actress, director, and screenwriter, has been appointed CHANEL’s newest House Ambassador. Her appointment as CHANEL ambassador marks CHANEL’s new creative director, Matthieu Blazy’s first celebrity pick and makes her the brand’s first Nigerian ambassador.
Recognised for her standout roles in critically acclaimed series and films such as “The Bear and After the Hunt”, Ayo Edebiri embodies a new generation of genre-defying performers who are constantly pushing boundaries. Her distinctive style, sharp wit, and singular perspective on the world make her a natural ally of CHANEL.
When bold talent meets CHANEL elegance

Ayo Edebiri shares a deep creative rapport with Matthieu Blazy. She recently wore CHANEL creations at both the Venice Film Festival and the New York Film Festival, foreshadowing her formal appointment as House Ambassador.
“Matthieu and I clicked right away,” Edebiri shares. “I love his vision, both sensitive and joyful. There is ease and elegance, yet a beautiful internal power. His looks give me confidence, but I still feel like myself. I am so happy to be embarking on this adventure with Matthieu and CHANEL”
Blazy also praised Edebiri’s artistry and presence: “Ayo is all strength, but at the same time, she is vulnerable enough to always put herself out there. She writes, she acts, she directs… Nothing can stop her. I admire her boldness, her beauty, her intellect, and her choice of artistic projects. She does it all while being incredibly kind and witty, with the warmest smile.”
On Monday, 6 October 2025, Edebiri will attend the Spring/Summer 2026 show at the Grand Palais in Paris, where Matthieu Blazy will unveil his first collection for CHANEL
