Why Nigeria?

Swarovski’s Regional Sales Manager for sub-Saharan Africa, Jonathan Minter, believes Nigeria is a key market because of its growing middle-class and upper-class population. Commenting on the brand’s strategy, he said, “Our goal is to blend Swarovski’s global heritage with localised marketing to make it a leading brand in Nigeria.”

A commitment to sustainability

With over 65% of the world’s diamonds mined in war-torn African countries, Swarovski reiterated its commitment to an ethical and sustainable approach. They are more interested in fostering local partnerships that support communities in Nigeria. Olamoniso Nduka, Head of Business Development at Polo Limited, addressed media questions on sustainability, stating that “Swarovski leads the charge amongst other global jewellery players [in sustainability] with responsible sourcing and ethical practices.”

Concerning currency fluctuations, he maintained that localised pricing strategies have been implemented to ensure affordability without compromising quality across the various socio-economic classes. Simply put, Swarovski will keep the best quality at the best prices.

Swarovski’s future in Nigeria is as bright as the gems it offers, and we look forward to new product launches and innovative retail experiences. As Swarovski continues to expand its footprint in Nigeria, this visit represents a pivotal moment in its journey, laying the foundation for future successes.
