The style moment from Tiwa Savage’s historical performance at the Coronation Concert

Tiwa Savage

Women breaking barriers sets my heart on fire and when they’re Nigerian, that little bugger bursts into so many tiny heart shaped flames. Tiwa Savage at the Coronation Concert of King Charles III at Windsor Castle on Sunday night, was one of those moments.

At one of the biggest events in history and amongst fellow stars, multiple award winning Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress, Tiwa Savage, stunned the world with her performance and in a notable fashion as well.

While we can discuss the amazing rendition of the song “Keys To The Kingdom” from Beyonce’s Lion King Album which featured her and Mr Eazi, this one is dedicated to the stunning look Tiwa donned for the occasion.

Teaming up with a designer she often works with, Tiwa arrived on stage in a regal custom green dress by Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, a Nigerian female clothing brand, looking every inch the Queen of Afrobeats she is fondly called. Adorned with diamond necklaces from Frost Of London and finished off with green shoes from Louboutin, the entire look was a perfect ensemble that represented her heritage and a blend of the western culture.

Of course, everyone wanted to know if the color green was a deliberate choice to reference her representation of Nigeria. Coincidence or not, I believe it was the best look she could have put together. From the off-shoulder detail to the ruched front detail leading to an elaborate train, the next few “owambe” events are about to see a surge in this particular style, I hope the local designers are ready for the pressure?

This video of the outfit gives me all the feels, I know you see it too.
