The 2026 BAFTAs celebrated the talent and genius of Black creatives — here’s a look at all the biggest winners

At the 2026 BAFTAs, Black creatives dominated major wins.

The 2026 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) delivered one of the most dynamic and internationally resonant ceremonies in recent memory, celebrating the imagination and storytelling of many Black creatives. Hosted at the iconic Royal Festival Hall in London, the evening celebrated a year of daring storytelling and formal innovation across cinema. The intimate character studies and visually ambitious epics reflected this year’s nominees and the ever-changing film landscape, increasingly defined by global collaboration. The atmosphere celebrated the power of cinema to challenge, provoke, and connect audiences across cultures.

Among the night’s major wins, Wunmi Mosaku claimed Best Supporting Actress for her searing performance in “Sinners,” which also secured Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Score, cementing its status as one of the evening’s most celebrated films. Akinola Davies Jr. and Wale Davies won Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for “My Father’s Shadow,” marking a defining career moment for the filmmaking duo. Meanwhile, Frankenstein dominated the craft categories, taking home awards for Costume Design, Make Up & Hair, and Production Design.
