In an age of instant gratification, Lagos-based luxury brand Nitémi is making a quiet but powerful statement: fashion can still be soulful. With its latest collection, Handwork, designer Temilayo Osude invites us to return to the craft, patience, and meaning behind the clothes we wear.

Each piece in the Nitémi collection is handcrafted in Lagos by skilled local artisans using time-honoured techniques such as sculptural macramé, hand-pleated chiffon, beading, and layered tailoring. For Temilayo Osude, the goal was simply to create clothing that holds space for women. “I didn’t want to make clothes just to fill a rack,” she says. “I wanted to create pieces that hold space for the women who wear them. Pieces that say something without needing to speak.”
Nitemi: Sculpted silhouettes and meaningful movement
