Beauty as foreplay: my pre-sex and intimacy rituals

Want to feel your best before sex? Here are simple yet effective beauty rituals that’ll boost your confidence before intimacy.

Sexual intimacy and foreplay are not just about the moment; they’re about the journey leading up to it. The anticipation, the spark, and the connection truly set the stage for sexual pleasure. And for me, beauty rituals are my ultimate form of foreplay. Think about it: when you feel amazing in your skin, confidence radiates, and desire naturally blossoms.

However, some things can kill the mood. Body image insecurities, not feeling fully ready, or even just the stress of the day, can put a damper on things. For us women, even the smallest doubts can turn sex into something less than pleasurable.

The good news? There are ways to turn things around before you even get started. I’m sharing my pre-sex beauty rituals, so get closer.

Body care: More than just a practicality

Body care is essential, and there’s nothing like that amazing feeling after a good cleanse before getting intimate. I love hopping in the shower beforehand to make sure my whole body feels and smells as fresh as can be. Since I exfoliate occasionally, I don’t always include this step. However, exfoliating all over, especially in those often-overlooked erogenous zones like elbows, knees, and bum makes a world of difference. Plus, this also helps all your products penetrate your skin better.

However, not just about getting clean or feeling fresh; it’s about taking care of your body and showing yourself some love. Whether it’s a relaxing bath, a self-massage, or a DIY body treatment, body care can be a powerful way to kickstart your foreplay.

Body oils for the extra shine

Let’s talk about body oils. After stepping out of the shower, I gently apply body oil over my damp skin, sealing in moisture while savouring the warmth of the moment. Plus, it makes the skin feel super soft and smooth. If you’re feeling fancy, add a few drops of essential oil.

Keep your lips tempting

Hydrate those lips! It’s important to keep them as luscious and soft as possible. I usually skip lip gloss or lipstick because I don’t want to leave any residue on my partner’s lips, which could lead to cross-contamination. But, if you’re cool with it, go for it! I simply slather on some non-scented lip balms a few minutes beforehand, so my lips can soak up the moisture.

Scent-sual delights

Fragrances and perfumes can be a potent aphrodisiac. Finding a scent that makes you feel confident and alluring can be a great way to set the tone for intimacy. Whether it’s a sensual musk, a floral bouquet, or a citrusy zing, perfume can be a subtle yet powerful way to seduce not just your partner, but yourself too.

The power of self-love

My greatest beauty armour is my opinion of myself. At the end of the day, foreplay is more than just getting ready for intimacy; it’s about cultivating self-love and self-acceptance. When you take the time to nurture your body and mind, you’re showing yourself that you’re worth the effort. And when you feel confident and empowered, you’re more likely to feel ready for whatever intimacy comes your way.

So, there you have it, my sacred beauty rituals guaranteed to kickstart the fun. Pamper yourself, your body, and your partner will thank you.
