Ayra Starr, Doechii, SZA, and Tyla win awards at the 2025 BET Awards

The 2025 BET Awards winners are in!

The prestigious Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards held in Los Angeles on 9 June 2025. One of the biggest cultural nights recognising Black talent in entertainment and sports, the BET Awards celebrated its 25th anniversary as it handed out the coveted awards.

Many of the nominated women — SZA, Cynthia Erivo, our very own Ayra Starr, Tyla, Summer Walker, Doechii, GloRilla, Angel Reese and even our beloved Blue Ivy Carter — celebrated wins. Ayra Starr won the award for Best International Act 2025; SZA won the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Doechii took home the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award, while Cynthia Erivo won Best Actress. Blue Ivy Carter won the YoungStars Award, to nobody’s surprise — she’s been killing it with Beyoncé in the ongoing Cowboy Carter tour. The legendary Mariah Carey was also honoured with the Ultimate Icon Award.
