Whoopi Goldberg has always marched to the beat of her own drum, whether it’s her distinctive fashion sense or her famously frank opinions. On “The View,” she once again captivated audiences, this time with a surprisingly simple yet bold statement about personal comfort that’s sure to resonate.

Whoopi Goldberg inspires us to relax when it comes to our underwear. Speaking on “Hot Topics” on The View, which she co-hosts with Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, the actress kicked off a discussion about bras with a surprising admission.

It all started when Behar joked: “She freed those girls [referring to her breasts] a long time ago,” to which Goldberg replied: “I don’t wear a bra. I haven’t worn one in 50 years.” She continued: “It’s very uncomfortable and I don’t care if they touch the floor! They’re mine.”

The actress then referenced her comedic roots and gave a demonstration on how not to wear a bra. “This is what you do,” she said, standing up from her chair. “You walk and then you go, ‘Hey girl.'” She pretended to kick something off the ground — presumably her breasts — sending her co-hosts into a fit of laughter.

The “Sister Act” actress has co-hosted The View since 2007, when she replaced Rosie O’Donnell. More recently, she made a stylish appearance at the 2025 Met Gala wearing a Thom Browne tuxedo dress and matching hat. The ensemble featured 350,000 white sequins and took over 7,700 hours to create, according to People.
